Coles Express has partnered with Cancer Council in support of Daffodil Day since 2011.

Objectives

Coles Express seek to:

  • support the community in a highly relevant way and demonstrate social responsibility
  • enable team members across the country to make a difference to a cause that they strongly support, enhancing recruitment and retention
  • create an enhanced shopping experience through in-store promotions and engage customers in supporting a high profile cause by offering multiple opportunities (eg donations, buying merchandise).

What we have achieved together so far

  • Coles Express and its customers have together raised over $4.6 million since 2011 Cancer Council's Daffodil Day, to help achieve our vision of a cancer-free future.
  • Money raised helps fund local Cancer Council support services across Australia and provides funding for Cancer Council's vital research, education and prevention programs.
  • Each year, employees and customers come together through various fundraising activities in support of Daffodil Day, making a vital contribution to their communities.

How Coles Express supports Cancer Council

Coles Express and their customers raised more than $200,000 in 2017 by:

  • selling Cancer Council's Daffodil Day merchandise at checkouts nationally
  • taking customer donations at the checkout
  • hosting staff fundraising activities, including morning teas, dress in yellow, auctions and raffles, as well as filling tanks and washing windscreens for a gold coin donation
