History

Cancer Council Northern Territory Inc. was incorporated in 1979. Prior to then it was a part of the Cancer Council of South Australia. Starting from a demountable building in the city and known as the NT Anti Cancer Council it operated as a voluntary organisation with a board of up to forty people until 1986. In line with other Cancer Councils in Australia the organisation changed name to the Cancer Council Northern Territory in 1995. The organisation then moved to its current Darwin location at Casi House in 1996.

Over the years Cancer Council Northern Territory has gradually expanded its range of services that are delivered from three regional centres: Darwin, Alice Springs and Katherine.
